Concerning Mirages

It would so appear that this topic requires some attention from community, today we'll be talking about the so called mirages. There is total of three mirage maps, one for each main map, IE a shaitain mirage, argent mirage, and icicle mirage. Mirage is special and timed map that's only opened for players lv 70 and above, inside the mirage there is many tough but very rewarding (exp) monsters. Additionally there is a boss for each mirage which has nice lump sum of exp and potentially powerful drops. The entrance fee is reality mask which exchanged by any grocer in main cities. The reality mask can be exchanged for following items:
Additionally, mirage is limited to character lv 89 and under, lose 50 reputation upon entry. The schedule is currently set to only opening at 1PM and 7PM. The following information was extracted and verified by scripts.

Question: Do we open mirage? Is adjustments required? How should schedule be normalized, twice a day or twice a week? Is entrance fee really a fee, albeit not just some junk where fee is more of "change-coin"?

I think it should be once every day just so people don't focus on it too much cause there are other items that everyone needs and only selected people are able to produce them, and it doesn't help if those people are focused on this new update.
Secondly, I think we should keep the entrance requirement as it is. It'll be dull and boring if it's just money.
 
Maybe its time to open the mirages, since theres so many (like 60 or more) players lv70 or more and unfortunately some of them are stucked in the same lv since they arent a good lvling class. I don't think that Mirage will create a gap between lv 60-69 and 70+ players, since everybody will start to aim for it. The entrance fee looks good, i don't think that it need to be changed. But i think that something that opens twice a day need to be set in a higher time range. maybe 10am and 10pm in the days that CA opens at 5am and 5pm and vice versa. Or maybe once a day as a trial period or even less, like only in the weekends...
 
is lv3 coral vendor still there? is everything in there just same as official?

an idea, zankza do you think it is possible to add maps (also possibly for upcoming events) countdown in homepage?
or events/maps agenda up to the next 24h?
 
Well, Mirages definitely have some positive and negative aspects. First really positive aspect that comes to mind is the fact that, as @MZarur said, it would allow some lv70+ people who are stuck to get past that barrier and reach lv75, which is arguably one of the most important levels of the game.

The server's a bit over 5 months old and I think it's ready for more than several people to start preparing for Rebirth and hitting that sweet lv75, but the question is, is it ready for a number of people to potentially hit lv80+? Don't know.

It will definitely replace Fortune for lv70-73 (Which is what most people opt for, as Summer generally requires great gear or a decent party.) and Summer will probably no longer look like an attractive option either. Not sure how fine you are with making Mirage legitimately the best and probably the only used spot for 70+.

A few more concerns that I have in mind are how Thundoria has always been the most popular Mirage and I doubt that will cease here. The others are simply not as good, though who knows, maybe a vanilla server would push SSs to go Icicle Mirage, Cruz and Champs to Thundoria Mirage and Magics to Shaitan Mirage, as it was intended.

Next thing are the bosses that you mentioned. The EXP they give is far from phenomenal nor are the drops amazing. 50% for Illusion Heart which gives a Ring worth around 200k shouldn't be a concern, but there are the Eye/Heart/Hair of Death items which bosses drop. They are a necessary item for making Death Equipment (If the server lives long enough for Abba 5+), and that may lead to another form of monopoly, as people would generally try to stack on those items up in preparation for Death eq.

I think most of these ^ problems can be solved if the times for when Mirages would occur are thought out carefully. I like the format for CA times and I think a similar system could be used for Mirages.

Two more concerns which would probably need fixing are the entrance fees and how it would affect any exp events in the future.
  • Fees
Now, let's face it, the entrance fees for Mirage are a joke. I don't think upping the money cost would solve anything, but rather the Reality Mask could use some work in order to make it require some effort, and so that entering Mirage isn't completely free. Moreover, this would make people who want to bring alts in (Buffers or tankers) walk the extra mile in order to make their leveling go extra smooth.
  • Exp Events
Now, I think that having Mirages around and all that, Exp events wouldn't really be needed for players lv70+, and should you decide to make them more scarce, the lower lvl players would suffer, or should you still put them, lvling at 70+ would turn into a joke, which is bad too. A workaround would be trying to make future EXP events and mirage times not collide, would maybe force lv70+ people to actually level elsewhere.

So, not to turn this into a bigger wall of text than it already is, I'm all up for Mirages as I think the server's ready, but there are some fundmanetal problems which may need fixing, as I said above, I think making the times cool and fair for everyone already does more than half the job.

Survivors will be able to face BOSS after portal close for a limited time.

This will make it worth a challange. And Winners will be able to take their time to level and BOSS hunt.

would be good if wasn't so important to be there for other purposes (leveling). mirages have a lot of good spots, with a lot of mobs. it should just be as it always was.

It's supposed to be a leveling area. Mixing PK and leveling just doesn't work.

was thinking about it and imagine if u just use nana and hi amp and a crus simply slash you... everything going to the garbage so fast.
 
Can the opening of the portal be 1pm and 1am? So that people in countries that the portal open in midnight can have a go when it's in the afternoon or vice versa.
Maybe 1pm on Mondays, Wednesday and Friday while 1am on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. During Sunday you can have 1pm and 1am mirage?

Because I'm sure the minorities (country-wise) would also love a shot at mirages too. We always get left out for the timing things

what you saying is so stupid and doesn't makes sense.
1- abba has other purposes, like farming keys.
2- i never saw ppl lvling in autumn
3- high lv summer mob is 77, and it gives less exp than lv71 and 72 ones. so after lv76 you are very limited on choosing a good mob to kill to get a good exp. and after lv77 is almost impossible to lv up in summer. but what you saying is like: why add smugglers if we have barbaric bees? you can lv up on both, but drops are different, spots are different... why ninja moles if we have fearsome tortoises??? and much more examples..
 
Personally, I think server is nowhere to be giving out that so much XP. I think that this mirage needs to wait at least year old before even considering but peer pressure is real.

Fun fact: The EXP given from Summer mobs is higher than Mirage mobs. The latter are just less gear-demanding and you have a wide range of mobs so you can't just cross the map off as bad after you've reached a certain level.
 
I didn't read through posts but my opinion is, based on previous concerns I've heard, is if we open map, let's lower the limit level. Say, for now it's only available for people lv 70-79 or something like that, if the main concern is people getting ahead of everyone way too quickly. It'll help some people get to 75-80 but prevent others from getting much further.

Another concern I read was drops required for death EQ.... We could remove them temporarily as well if that is a main issue.

Then again that might be changing a little too much for a vanilla server. Just some thoughts though. I wouldn't mind waiting a few more months, lol. Not even 70 yet. Definitely hoping for this to come at some point though.

Counted 92 people lv70 and up. Whether they are all active is a bigger question. I imagine we'd hit 100 lv70+ by the end of the month if that's all we wanna base this on.

Death Equips are way harder to get than getting mirage bosses drops.. Need Abba5+, so mirage won't affect it..

I understand that. Just that I saw that concern from someone and I had to address it, thus the "if that is a main issue."

I didn't really consider it a big issue, just felt like pointing it out since Zankza said that Mirage is home to bosses with powerful drops, and although that may be true, there's more to it than that. Either way, I like your suggestion of removing those drops, but I don't see much harm in keeping them, if anything they force people to visit those poor Icicle/Shaitan Mirages and the drop rate's only 3% (6%).

I did put it in the "Issues which would be solved if the timing was thought out" section, and yeah, if it's not always the same people in mirages and mirages aren't too often, I don't see this being a big issue.
