I think its about time for a reputation market. As it stands I know many people at the lower ranks are looking for a good way to make money. The problem is, unlike top, the mentorship system sucks. It is more beneficial to me to lv alt after alt to 41, than it is to toil away lvling newcomers from 35 up to 41. Without this incentive, the common practice is to instead lv your own alts to 41, take all the rewards, delete them, rinse- repeat. This is great for making money, but not to helpful in promoting overall health of a growing player base. My proposal is to create a reputation market, where rewards are appealing to those with their first char in the 41-50 range. This helps newer players as if there are active mentors leveling disciples they come out at 41 with some actual money, as they did not have to pay for plvling. The variety of rewards and lv of rep required should be what detours abuse, although this system is obviously prone to it. If the game were to offer items such as broken gems, and coral recharging batteries, maybe revival clovers, some of the really entry level pots, then those lvling 1-41 wouldn't see a great benefit. That's because there is not much rep lvling 1-35, the huge boosts of rep per lv and the boost at 41 are the major factors in the amount of rep obtained, meaning that it would be a better use of time to level someone 35-41(Or the levels closer to 41 in general) than 1-41 for instance. I'd like to know what people think about this, I'm sure its been brought up before, but hopefully the continued conversations produce something tangibly good for the server.

The problem is people will still abuse it.
No one plays games like they used to anymore hence why bar is dead, everyone wants to be the best and use their time effectively.
whats to stop me making 4 new accounts lvling them to 41 starting sq lvling the 4 new chars to 55 through sq gaining rep on my main selling the items from sq and gaining around 28m cash from quests at the same time plus then trading the rep that I get for credits and buying the best thing to sell to other players.
The only uses rep has atm in game is CA entry and RB quest though I agree there needs to be some kinds of credit system I cant think of a way that it would be implemented without abuse.

Yeah of course it could be abused, which is why I mentioned the rewards I did. They're of little to no value to anyone doing SQ grinding in the grand scheme of things. That said, you pointed something out: SQ. Why not remove all the SQ rewards since they are abused? Why not stop giving lv 41s 200k? Why not remove HB from the newbie chest?

The answer is that the potential goods outweigh the potential bads, with items like broken gems and coral batteries I doubt it will be abused, but even if it is the goods outweigh the bads.

I must disagree, almost everyday during "peak hours" there's gathered people for bar, sure not 24/7 like old days, but thats because we're adults now, and not children anymore, which doesnt mean we have unlimited time

I think people have to give up the idea of a reputation/credit system, at least in a server like this one. Yes, pretty much all of us come from ToP which had its Award Center/Reputation for Credits - or 99.99% of private servers which have some form of Reputation Exchanger, but this server should not have something like that. It's been discussed time and again, and many good ideas have been given (including the ones in this thread); but ultimately it all boils down to either:
a) being too abusable
b) being too bad

In both case a) and case b), I don't think any goals are achieved. You can try to make the rewards as "miserable" as you want - no one's going to do it. Likewise, you can try to make the rewards alluring - people are going to abuse it. You can stack conditions onto those rewards and what not - it's still either going to be abusable or not worth it.

Only valid idea(s) I've seen/had for reputation would just be ways to "sink" or "dump" your reputation somewhere and (maybe) get something that's not too universal. For example a way to gamble your reputation or redeeming extremely "specific" and random items. For the latter, one good idea I've seen was having to spend massive amounts of reputation for Stones with which you can make lv75 equipment (Drakan, Secrets Shoes, Twilight, Apollo Gloves and so on).

That's off-topic, but since you've already brought it up - an hour or two of Bar PvP every few days does not count as active or imply that everything's fine.

Exchanging reputation for stuff with fixed prices, may be abuse-able (buy 1 nana for x rep). But how about adding like "a wheel of fortune" that costs y reputation and gives random rewards? Rewards can change for example every month to make it more appealing. There is no guarranteed profit, its just a gamble. After all its "Pirate King Online". Pirates love to gamble (also drink Rum :P )

or a seperate Lottery that only consumes Reputation!
