Hello,

Today I'm here because I want the game to go further and to have more players. So, with this, I'll start with the main points and then i'll go to side points.

  • Advertisements/Marketing
This is an interesting point for me since there could be done a lot of things in order to increase the game itself. I'll give a quicker example, previously the game was known as "Tales Of Pirates", correct? This game (top) was on a platform called "I Got Games" (IGG) and being on a know platform can help to increase the number of players. So, the first part of Point Number One is to take Pirate King Online into Steam.
I know, you admin, will have to put some money on it to make something like this but sooner or later, you'll get the money back if you use well the cards you have (I'll give some ideas about this on the 4th point named as "Money Making").
Once the game is on " Steam ", the real advertisement must start. You might be able to create some new roles with people of your trust to help you on this. I suggest to start the advertisement on social media. Create a Instagram Page and a Twitter. There are many methods to share your own game through the main social medias.
First of all, you can look into different games or similar games for people that seem to be interested on those games and with a good speech / a good text to advertise, you might be able to conquer those.
Second of all, on instagram you have the #hashtags. This is a very simple method to get your instagram page and the game known. By using the right words on the hashtags you'll now be able to find some new public for sure.
Third of all, what kind of public are we aiming at? Children? Teens? Adults? Elders? The advertisement should be adapted for the public that we're aiming at. So, using social medias, you can for example, follow and speak who liked other games. Now you might be asking, "why would I do such thing?" Well, here's my answer: By following or speaking to people who gave likes on other stuff of other games, you'll make them go into your on page. On your page you will need to have a well structured feed and information so that It really looks professional in order to be catchy. Also, by trying to interact with possible future players, you'll be able to get them. You can have a nice chat with them and on the end you can tell something like "well, i must go to work (or something else). Download PKO so that we play tomorrow or when both us can ;)"
Fourth of all but not least... Waste some money to get advertisements on some websites. This one might be kinda expensive, so for me this would be a last resource.
When advertising, we must have good designs, good editions, videos etc. etc. even if you don't want to pay for a professional, I'm sure that there's a lot of people on the game that would be willing to help on this kind of stuff and they could also get a role like "Designer" , "Movie Maker"
Also, if you know ex-players (old players), challenge them to come back and try to make something else, something new (suggestions about this kind of stuff will be below, on the next point)

  • In-Game Suggestions:
Well, I'm going to be honest, all the topics are related but I didn't know what name I would need to put on this topic.
Now, in order to get more people online, there are a bunch of things that we can do. This is (in my opinion) quite useless to do if there's no marketing (I'm speaking about what I will say soon and you'll understand why).
First of all, create Happy Hours where double exp happen (It's happening already the Hexa but this is only getting the same players we had always, isn't it? They might create new accounts themselves and give a look of new players coming). We could do different types of Happy Hours. Now, you're asking "What types are you thinking about?" Well, double-drop. Instead of a monster dropping the same amount of items, they would get like the double. Also, on those Happy Hours, something different could happen. Like what? Well, I've never won money by killing monsters. On this Special Event, we could get a significant amount of money by farming players. The money would increase by the level of the monster or by being a boss or not etc. etc..
Second of all, another type of Special Event where all type of players are free to join. Now, you're probably asking, "What is the event that you're thinking about?" Well, in order to make things fair for everyone and to make sure that everyone can really participate, these type of events should be scheduled in advance. The kind of event that I could be thinking is made by levels and by classes to make it fair. A cleric won't be able to do the same as crusader... keep that in mind (we'll go to this point soon) and we could make some farming event, some type of objects collecting event, Special Quests events, etc etc.. With this, there could be a significant reward that could make everyone satisfied. Could be items, money, gears... etc. etc..
How would the levels be like? (I'll give the example according to Port Royal levels)
Level 1 - 5;
Level 6 - 10;
...
A time limit should be given and at the end of the time limit (there should be a way to apply this with coding, I'm not the expert on it, sorry) where the winners of their category win the reward.
If these suggestions are looking fine, i'll be willing to one day think and suggest different types of events.

Third Point, make new classes, new characters, different types of hair, eyes. Having always the same type of stuff for years might get tiring for some players after some time. I'm sure that It's not too difficult to make this since there's always prototype model for each aspects. At least, when I played other games we had this when we wanted to add a new hair, I'm quite sure this isn't different here.
Also, there's something I noticed, not all the characters are able to have all the classes and I wonder why. Why can't a female character be a crusader? Or why can't a male character be a cleric? Think about this one, I think that It's not a bad thought.
Since we're speaking about "creating", making new maps (again, there should probably be some prototype models) and according to what the players seem to like or they want to see or through possible polls, maps and new monsters can be done. Same goes to NPCs and missions and so on. Right now, I don't have much more to say about this point since I haven't explored the game the enough yet.

  • Money Making
This point isn't a debatable theme for players in my opinion. This is a point that I want to make just for the admins. The ideas on the Money Making Point will happen for in-game situations and out-game situations.
The First Point I would like to speak and It seems a really cool idea is to create the Very Important Person (VIP) System/Club. Now, to use this kind of System/Club whatever you want to call it (or possibly rename it) you have to take into consideration a lot of different points, ok? This is a nice method to get money and It'll be useful for the players. I have made part as a moderator from some communities and from some games and most of them had this system and in fact I actually created this system for another game with my old friend. Now, I'll stop speaking and I'll go direct to the point.

What can the VIP System give to a player?
1 - By Paying to have a VIP you'll get access to some Rum (the amount of rum will be decided to you and It also depends on the price of the VIP).
2 - By being a VIP when you buy Rum you will also get 5-10% more Rums than a normal player would get.
3 - VIP members should be able to have different hairstyles and gears however when the VIP time ends (The minimum time for VIP should be 15 days or 30 days, I personally suggest 30 days) the hairstyles and the gears disappear. For the hairstyle, I suggest to give those players their previous hairstyles. Simple as that.
4 - VIPs should have a separated role on discord and different color on the name (website) so that they can get a highlight. Speaking about that, In-Game they could also have something next to their name saying "VIP" (when I say VIP, It can really be a different name, It's up to the owner, not to me).
5 - They are VIPs so they should have more stuff than the others, as obvious... So, the idea on this point is (I'll speak about Port Royal's System since i'm playing there) if a player normally gets 1% experience (default) the VIP players could get 1.2%. Ok, It's not too much than the others but It's still a big help (and this should really be discussed, I just send the idea out, It doesn't really need to be like I said).
6 - Special Missions just for the VIP where they can get Special Items that some players wouldn't get.
7 - Players should be able to afford VIP by a big amount of Rum, so if someone has Rum enough and doesn't want to buy VIP with cash, they have this possibility however by doing such thing, we would have literally to change the prices that are being given right now to Rum.

I'll stop the ideas for now... If this seems good for you, we can discuss about more stuff for the VIP System/Club later. A lot of things can be done.

Second Point, we are on the new internet's era. Nowadays, a lot of games already have their own twitch... Where's Pirate King Online at the twitch? They're not. Simple as that.
By having a Twitch channel you're able to get donations and subscriptions. Those things give money. Now, It's up to you how you manage the Twitch, not to me. I can give some ideas.
When doing events or preparing some stuff, you could be streaming that maybe... You could ask some known players here to be streaming for the channel, I'm sure someone is their fan and will watch and so on.
For a future time, you can speak with smaller twitchers to join the game and to go into your account and stream and they speak with their viewers and they'll eventually come and sooner or later with some bigger twitchers.
When doing this kind of stuff, you don't have always to waste money, you can make a fair trade where both sides win. With small twitchers, they have much to win. Look at the numbers of this game, users etc. etc. and look at their numbers. If they join your twitch, they'll eventually get known and you can also share them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. etc. send a message in-game and that is a way to make a trade for example, both sides win.

Third and Last Point (since i'm going out of ideas right now, because I didn't write my ideas, I was writing and typing as soon as my ideas were coming to my mind) you could create a separated tab on the forum called "ONLY ADS". On that page named as ONLY ADS, you can surely win money, because there will be people who would pay to have their won website advertisement or even other stuff. The idea seems to be there, the problem is that the ADS on that separated page might have ads with virus... and I'm not sure if that's really good but you can hide that page from forum's users and still have the ads there. I don't know if this seems good for you.
Well, for now this is all I have and later if you enjoyed, I can suggest more.

I did the best I could and I suggested the best I could...

Greetings,
Templle !

Advertisements/Marketing
Answer about all 4 points: Must be separated person. Developer can develop game or use all time for advertising. Pick something one

In-Game Suggestions
Happy hours not really good. Players like for beight informed of what will happens, random events are good only for full-time players.
Special events requre separated person for do them, same as third point

Money Making
Developer had answer about money need only for keep game alive. They are not owners of game and only having fun in development
Idea with VIP is old, but majority good with that?
Second point - on PKO tweach channel
Third is bad. This is official server, staff will not do pserver advertising. Maybe i understand you wrong, but anyway look on 2 lines above

Well nice written but idk will it work. IGG was company that has sucsess in other games too. Look this, today's kids play games like LOL while PKO plays old TOP players and nostalgic players ( a lot of players who played TOP are grow up people that have family now so must of them don t play because that, only the most nostalgic). I will give u one good example.

I am work in audit house. I have licence in audit and I give services like financial control of some company, accounting and transfer pricing. Once some man come to office and he needed service of accounting because he was making game for mobile and he needed to create some company too. And we made deal. He had all expenses what u write there for advertising plus he had help of our country to cover that expenses ( like Google do some service and insted that his company pay country do that). With all that advertising and help of country he didn't sucseed. Because that we needed to I needed to likvidate his company ( he ask me to do it). The thing that make me more sad was that he is old TOP player :/.

But why he didn't sucseed is because kids are more interested in LOL. For now that is the most played game. Game of that man was something like battle football.
Maybe PKO will have more luck with your idea but I am not so sure. You can think what you wana (and I am not defending nobody) but PKO team is doing good. Especially if you see that behaind PKO there is no big company.

What I don't like in this game is less PvP in bar ( that is most fun). In this days is active it looks so I am happy. I don't like going in maze always because is obligation. And if u Wana go maze u need be all good games with full equip or you will be crushed (lol). But for that PKO team is not quilt (as I see)

I disagree with some statements made here. Runescape for example is a 6 years older and graphically far less advanced game which is still widely popular today. Many of the runescape players are in their early 20's and are therefore too young to be playing out of nostalgia. Why is that?

Because Runescape has so much more media exposure than Tales of Pirates. The most watched Runescape video of this month has over 500.000 views while the most watched top video has only 1000. And most top related videos don't even reach 500 views in several months. Meanwhile you have dozens of runescape youtubers who hit over 50.000 views easily.

What I am saying is that if we had such an active social media community as some other games and would have large youtubers backing the game this game could be popular well into 2025 or even 2030. In a large part the games like fortnite survive through streamers and content creators reminding people of the existence of the game.
