Client updating every day for 1hr+

Basically the title says all i just wanted to see if this is normal and if there was any faster way to do it since i have fastest internet available. its been updating 2 days in row now.

Problem is that your client keeps getting corrupted. Most common things that corrupt client are either anti-viruses or when updater download patches, it's not being installed (extracted) correctly.

Either way, I would recommend disabling and better yet uninstall anti-viruses and then afterwards run the launcher as administrator.

Though while it may be persistent but it's not exclusive to time, if it's always happening ONCE a day, then you have some other more complex situation (your PC gets rolled back or overwritted by some old snapshot or backup)

Also if you lose internet connection while playing PKO the game will be corrupted and the client will re-install all files again. It will take hours to install this using version checker. Re-installing the game will save you time. It'll only take more or less 10mins to re-install the game.

I would check properties (of whole PKO folder) and uncheck "read only" option.

Also as always for windows newer than XP, i would run client as administrator.

False. Not true.

It is @Zankza, happened to me 5x already everytime I lose internet connection. It also happened to my friend more or less 5x everytime he loses internet connection while in-game (we have the same internet provider). You can try to simulate this and you'll see. The error was file(s) inside the PKO folder becomes corrupted. Next time I encountered the issue I'll give you a screenshot of the error message. Cheers

This does not happen, if it does happen to you and your "friends" it's exclusively something else not PKO's fault.

I'm not saying it's PKO's fault. In someway the client or file(s) inside PKO's folder get corrupted when this occur. I'm just saying that when PKO's client get corrupted it can also be caused by intermittent internet connection. Not blaming anyone, just giving facts based on my experience. I noticed last week (got intermittent connection) when I lose internet connection 3x within a day, 2x PKO folder file(s) got corrupted, 1x DID NOT. So it's just a possibility.

But the golden rule is that, if you have a clean operating system and use a reliable ISP (or better yet, use a vpn) you will NEVER have problem as I do as well of rest my team.

YES I agree with you 110%(Effectivenes). Unless you have a 100% working system and stable internet connection you will NEVER have problems like I do. Still, according to Murphy's Quantum Law: "Anything that can, could have, or will go wrong, is going wrong, all at once."
