Any boat levling experts around? i've got some questions

Besides food generation, you can also refuel with "Fish Meat", obtained from Fish Swarms - the same fishing yards which drop Sashimi. They go to your Cargo and using them will restore 50 Fuel.
Exchanging wood at Freights will give you wood bundles(?) in your cargo as well. It's been YEARS since I've last tried this, but I remember the lv1 Wood would turn into a bundle which would restore 2000 durability over time.

Oohh! sweet!

yeah fish meat stack at 15 per stack, refuel 50/meat so a stack refuel 750
wood bundle stack 10 per stack (10 wood = 1 wood bundle) & repair 2,100 in total per wood bundle OVER TIME at 100 every few second

of course the manu items is faster as they refuel & repair immediately but sometimes it's not easy to find those in stalls

But i guess this doesnt apply if u attack land mobs? Only sea mobs? Or have u tested both?

not sure.. I'm not purposely doing the research & its not easy to find specific lvl land mobs that near to sea..

ur right, thats why we need some OP boat people reading this thread and provide us excact coridnates :3

Besides, Leba gave some good clues for that!

After some testing, it seems like the boat exp gain (per killing mob) doesnt get affected by ur character level, only by ur boat level

So waht you wanna do is, make sure ur boat aint +9 or +10 lvls above the mobs ur trying to attack, aslong as its under that u will get ur optimal ship exp per kill!

ship is like separate character. So only ship lvl matters for ship experience, also if u are using sv and kill mobs with lightning curtain or entangle u dont get ship exp

never thought of that before, but thinking of it, it should make sense!! ty

Hi guys, I've got a few questions if you don't mind me asking.

1. What type of wood is required to get the wood bundle?
2. Is 'sashimi' the only type of fish that can be used as fuel?
3. Does all fish swamp give the same type of fish 'sashimi'
4. Do you use the fish and the wood bundle like a crafted item? Or do you need the life skill 'repair' to do so?
5. To conclude the life skill I should be getting is fishing and woodcutting if I want to stay at sea long?

1. I believe only "Wood" obtained from Pine Tree can be exchanged at a Freights(?) for wood bundles, one repairs 2000 HP over the course of time, and it goes to your Cargo (Ship inventory)
2. It's not Sashimi that restores fuel, it's Fish meat, which is obtained from Fish Swarm of Fish Swarm (Bountiful), and it goes to your Cargo (ship inventory), each restores 50 fuel per use. Additionally, you can use the manufacturing item Food Generation (price is roughly 3-4k) and each restores 650 fuel per use.
3. No, different fishing "yards" yield different types of fish, Fish Meat is obtained from the above mentioned sources only.
4. You double click it inside your Cargo (Ship inventory) to use, the Repair Skill has no use currently whatsoever.
5. You generally don't need it because once you get the hang of different sea monster's attack ranges, you can avoid most of them and take minimal damage. Your fuel should also keep you alive for around an hour till you get to a nearby Haven or Isle. However, if you plan on surviving with the wood bundles and fish meat, then yeah, that's what you need.
-Fishing needs to be lv1 for Fish Swarm and lv2 for Fish Swam (Bountiful)
-Woodcutting can be either lv1,2 to chop Pine Trees which yield low amounts of wood (Abandon mine haven area) or lv4,5 to chop Pine Trees which yield high amounts of wood (Chaldea Haven area)
