When was the last time we got a proper update?

Pretty much the title.

Ive been monitoring the server's player count and unfortunately it is stagnant, roaming around 550. With the current content, the server is not appealing anymore and the 500 players currently playing is the core base of the server. New PKO/TOP players will never play an old game like this neither an old player with the current server's rate.

And what saddens me more is that most of previous events are community forum events such as draw, write poems, cosplays etc... and mall event. Not to speak of Hexa which most of the community doesn't recognize it as an event - its like saying DW, BD is an event-.

Unfortunatelly, I do agree with you
There is no increase in the number of players. I am an old ToP player, the last time I played was about 5-6 or even more years ago and then it was something completely different, a lot of players in big cities, whole guilds playing in a bar, etc...

I think it doesn't mean that this game will fall down because it has its fans, but I'm sure there's still a lot to change to encourage new players to play.
By introducing events like you mentioned, but also new features, items, mobs, etc. you can keep your current players and bring back the old ones.
New players, on the other hand, should have better educational opportunities on how to play, how to start, what to choose and so on. I used to learn from my mistakes when I started, but now there are many guides, YT videos and I think developers should support them as well. Developers should also have a better communication with community (with us) for example through surveys, to know what the players really want and listen to their suggestions.

It's a 12 year old game hosted by a small private group of people instead of a large company like IGG. And they are doing a far better job at running the game than those people. 500 players online even with many of them being afk alts is nothing to sneeze at. I have seen new mmos have those numbers and flop miserably shutting down only a year after their launch.

A realistic way to get population is to tap into the old playerbase by doing good advertising or by merging several server together which is logistically hard to do. Very few "new" players will stick around even if they try this game as everyone else has years of experience ahead of them. This is a hard old school game where getting anywhere takes a lot of work and skill or spending a lot of money in game mall.

I don't know what helps to put 200 more alts. There is no point in having 400 online if 350 are alts.
I find this argument invalid. We need to recover old players, and attract new players, not increase the number of alts more and more.

I can't believe devs can't figure out a way to promote this on youtube. Get a person similar to that chick who shills for the other tales of pirates server to make weekly CA, game videos and either pay them in rum or real cash.

I believe that if someone appears who makes good videos and who knows how to make a good advertisement, PKO can help!

Only active Alt's are counted. So if you have put an Offline Stall for more then a few hours, it will stop counting as online.

Im one of those old players from TOP (Rainbow)... and while the nostalgia bug has bit me.... Idk if I want to invest the time i did back on TOP. I was a top 5 Crusader on my server, and that takes a lot of work!
