Exactly. If GMs always give your shit back when you do a mistake, why would you learn to avoid doing the mistake? Life is about making mistakes and learning from them, not having a daddy (in this case the GMs) that will make it right for you.
On the other hand:
What if this guy actually sold his equips for USD, and now claims he got scammed just to get his stuff back and keep the money? GMs have little to no way of knowing if there was a RWT involved.

I think someone who deliberately put 2 unsealed boes, 1 2nd gen pet above lv30, gemmed frame and some stuff more in the account of another person and leaves it away to do something isn't poor in any meaning of the word.

No, that's not how it works. There's scams which are the cause of pure negligence, carelessness and stupidity, such as this one, and there's scams which are next to unavoidable and probably not even in the rules, unlike Item Trading.

You know what the best help is? To let people burn themselves and learn a valuable lesson. Immediately returning lost items after you foolishly got scammed is the worst help one can get. Some people can only learn by getting punished.

I don't know what experiences you and the OP have.But I, honestly, assume that someone have to be too much innocent (to the point of being dumb) to put very expensive equipment in the hands of a person that isn't a long term friend (or at least someone who you can take satisfaction IRL), and simply leaves it away. I know that what happened to him sucks, but there is nothing we can do and there is nothing that the ones who can (Zankza and Devs) will do, due to things that Dakiller and Leba already stated.
