Realizing Refining Gem Supply

One thing that I did not predicted properly was refining gem value, I think they are too undervalued currently. Looking over some brief questions/answers revealed that it's not exactly the supply itself that is problem but actual demand. Without unlimited supply of UG and extremely underpowered normal gems, people have not just bothered to forge at all. Personally I think refining gem needs to have more value otherwise the mazes like FC/DS will continue to decline eventually DW too. My recommendation as follows:

I think the following changes would be suffice:

Salvaging by 20% (1% -> 0.8%)
DW1/DW2 no longer drops refining gem

Additionally, we probably should talk about gems, and why they are so incredibly useless.

Fiery Attack +4 to +5 or +6
Furious Attack +6 to +7 or +8
 
Man I had a FC and went many time and the drop rate is a piece of ***, that's why noone goes and there is not hard pk, so idk how people make refs. when you say DW1/DW2 no longer droping ref you mean mobs only or also bosses?
 
sq also give ref gem, but idk if those are also a big part of the ref gem supply on the market.

about buffing those noob gems, if i were a crus, i'd still go for +5 hr rather than 4 or 6 damage, making it 8 or even 10 is good i guess, (so lv3 fiery would act like a lv1 rage) but make sure to buff other too like explo and furious, and defensive gems (having shining give 200 hp would make some class easier to survive 1 hit kill from higher lvl).
and how about the spr gems? seeing other UG are getting cheaper except soul, i'd like to have spr gem +2 spr too (so lv3 spr gem would act like lv1 soul)
 
You should increase refining gem drop in Forsaken City if you don't want it to die. 0,08% is not enough. Also, FC is a waste of money since you need Ancient Generator and Amps of luck, when skele chests/sealed lv35 aren't sold at a good price (you can only make a bit of money farming lums and cams), but noone bothers to farm refs since this extremely low drop rate. Atleast increase drop rate of refining gem in fc

Not necessarily, I like the concept of refining gems from lower level mazes, if the higher level mazes didn't provide so adequate amounts, the refining gem would raise and your visits to lower-level mazes would become profitable.
 
You are indeed correct about the normal gems they are "incredibly useless". refining gem value is very low because normal gems are anyway except glow effect. UGs on the other hand are very rare so the demand on ref gems is very low. A hard core server gets boring when everyone is having a hard time progressing.
even if the price of ref gem goes up liek over a million. who would spend a million forging a crappy normal gems to his/her main gear.

my bet is on story quest when it comes to ref oversupply.

Mentioned it before, buff the noob gems. you can clearly observe how shit their price on stall (primarily fiery, furious, shadow) and no buyer.
suggestion: explo +16dmg, fiery +8dmg, furious +12dmg, spr gem +2spr, shadow +3dodge, glow +8def, shine +150hp. lust same as is.
 
probably from TOP2 but how about Broken, Cracked and Chipped Gems? they might help raise the price of Refining Gems

High lvl chars can already obtain refs from CA. I would find it fine if he increased drop rate in FC

While that's the ideal, I still feel like FC doesn't need boost of drops, but I suppose that would be compromise yes.

You don't go DW for refining gem alone, at worst case, they just have reduced rate, so it's not every single time, B1/B2 is awfully easy, DK and BM is lot more harder and lot less rewarding...
 
its good to focus on ds/fc but a server never prospers if they nerf high level and add it all to DS/FC... just a warning
i dont want any of the high level guilds becoming main ds/fc :(

well, i might not be a pro or something here yet, but i belive this problem can be solved easier, UGs are too expensive, CA items too, solution for population sake is and event or sort to inject many to the market, or raise the drop rate of those, and craked and chipped gems could solve this, award center or something for log in for ONCE per IP, could solve little issue, for IP dinamic well lucky in this cases, dont put UGs in mall, just craked inside DS broken in FC +2 is better than +4 atk max or +2 dodge ....

Here we go again! ;)

Tbh farming lums and cams while splitting to guilds, manu item spent, dying from PK are not even breakeven.

And still nobody bother tried to go DK for UG -> limited equip + limited skill points will force you to make bring more player to boss, or bring your alt. Which comes into more AG & effort.

Imo best suggestion for Fc if Zankza does not want to increase the ref% maybe :
1. Boost the nab gem.
2. Make less mobs in traffic when going to fc 3 for DK/or shorter route.
3. Remove AG.

You can say this one will change the 'vanilla' terms, but remember nobody goes fc until TOP2. Cheers!
