hi ,, i tried version check alot of time ,, restarting client alot of time as well ,tried every options possible to log in but
i got this many times as well..

how is it malware ridden? my antvirus didnt catch anything under its radar

All anti-viruses are fake and ineffective, they only catch "known" and old viruses, instead they always try to delete anything that's new downloaded.

i dont have antivirus anymore and have just reinstalled my PC i stil get this

Then you have a security gateway (a filtering on your internet level) that prevents out-going pings.

Most cafes, have corporate router/IDS that prevents most of unusual (or unfamiliar) activities.
