Since these Tidbits we got roughly 2 months ago (link), the HB which would be obtained from the "Yellow newbie box" was replaced with its untradeable (blessed) variant, along with some other changes.`Researching Chest` now gives `Blessed Heaven's Berry`
Right now, HBs are only obtained from packets (Fortune/Prosperous) and Item Mall. I believe it's a problem that such a widely-used consumable has no alternative, "f2p" way of being obtained. And this hurts casual players the most, those who can't afford high amounts of Hi-amps or keep up with the rising rum prices directly affecting HB prices as well.
Yes, there are some free HBs which can be obtained, such as reaching lv41 with a Mentor (20) and (for some classes only) completing 'Goddess Test' story quest (15). But considering how many HBs are required for leveling after lv66, these 20-35 pieces of "free" HBs don't quite cut it.
I think the simplest solution is reverting the change mentioned in this thread, or in other words, to replace the
Farming HBs by leveling alts up to 20, promoting them and trading the HBs over has always been a very newbie-friendly method, and in my opinion, one of the healthiest. It doesn't inflate the market with gold or with items, and it doesn't overshadow other methods. It also stimulates the market for Sand Bags and Lucky Packets, as well as some promotion items (Cashmere, Bottle). I think this change could only be positive for new/casual players, without harming the game much.
Thoughts?
