Hi there.

So, I recently started cooking and crafting but I am confused and have a few questions and would be thankful if I get enlightening responses.
1 - How big is the role of tool level? I was told you can attempt doing a lv4-5 BP with a lower lv tool, like lv1, but how does the base % interact with tool lv?
2 - Leveling cooking tool "seems" easy enough because of breads, but doing a lv1 bread BP on a lv2 tool consumes 2 durability but only gives out 1 exp, and I read it only becomes lv3 with 400 exp, will it really be this hard and consume lots of repair tools? The crafting tool seems almost impossible to level up since 1 crafted item = 1 exp and getting crafting bps that don't require 472362 statues is hella hard. Even getting crafting bps is hard. The people who crafted unseals already did it on lv1 tools or...?
3 - What's the practical difference between Novice and Standard life skills on the fairy?
4 - Fairy level must always be the same as tool lv? I.e. I got a lv2 manufacturing tool and I want to manufacture a lv3 repair tool, my fairy must also be lv2?
5 - Do I need Language Barrier quest done to talk to Furnarce of Immortality?

Thanks in advance for the answers of my many questions, I'm trying to make my friends and my guild stronger.

I don't know the exact formula, but the chance to complete a higher lvl BP with a lv4/5 tool differs greatly from, say, a lv1 tool.
If you succeed in Cooking (Or crafting/manufacturing) the Blueprint, you gain Tool experience equal to the Blueprint's level. This means that doing lv1 BPs isn't very efficient. Additionally, you will earn 1 tool exp if you fail the BP, no matter the level. This means that doing higher level BPs is much better, because not only do you get better products, but even if you fail, you still earn the same amount of exp as if you succeeded (or failed) a lv1 BP. The only downside is that resources are more demanding for higher lvl BPs.
4 - Fairy level must always be the same as tool lv? I.e. I got a lv2 manufacturing tool and I want to manufacture a lv3 repair tool, my fairy must also be lv2?
I think it needs to be Lv2 or above, but I'm not 100% sure here.
5 - Do I need Language Barrier quest done to talk to Furnarce of Immortality?
Nope, it's the only Spring NPC which doesn't require LB quest completed in order to talk to :)

And I don't know about 3, sorry. But I think the difference is minimal.

  • The higher the tool, the higher the chances to succeed in cooking/crafting.

  • It takes a while to level your tool after 3 with level 1 bps but it's the most sufficient way to do it,people used to make lv 5-6 tools with lv 1 bps. With a level 3 tool you should be able to cook/craft decently, even level 6 bps.

  • Std crafting/cooking skills give higher chance of success in comparison to novice.

  • Fairy level doesn't play any role, only the skills.

  • No.

OOOh thanks a bunch Leba and Sneaky, you guys helped me a lot. I'll make it my goal to make the tools lv3.
So I can keep fairy at lv0 and that won't make any difference?

For real, it works that way? Wasn't it different in FoxlvII? Where lv 1s gave the same as high level bps?

if BP level is 3 do i need tool same level as the BP?
