how to earn skill points ?

killing mobs getting experience = stat points and skill points
completing quests = life skill points = crafting, manufacture, cooking

For each level up, you obtain +1 Skill points

And as the guy above me stated, completing story quetss, gives you life skill points, which can be used to get skills, such as stall, mining, woodcutting and such
