hello i played TOP long time ago i have to say im surprised to see thes game back but its official ?

This is very close to being official. However its still not. Hope u ll like it here

It's not the official game per se, it's run under a different person, but it has the same features as the official game you played, with a few minor tweaks. If you enjoyed ToP, you'll enjoy this one as well.

There is no longer any official ToP
They were never official anyways, moliyo their-self were infringing copyright as well, they stole the game from other studios, illegally ran the games and made invalid contract with many game publishers. They were bankrupted when they lost the lawsuit for stealing games.

Not quite right. Moliyo was sued over not paying enough royalties for Cabal online. The lawsuit was years before TOP and PKO shut down. KingsofPirates/Pirate King Online/TOP where always owned by Moliyo.

PKO and TOP weren't paying Moliyo enough money for them to continue to develop ( and the Russian version never got off the ground, all they did is put the code out for other people )

They are not bankrupt and have a handful of games in China. I can't read their website to tell you more. :D They never did anything about shutting down private servers before and won't now.

IGG with TOP was doing things illegal, but Moliyo didn't care and they weren't reported on the other stuff. Their licenses agreement with Moliyo didn't allow them to let people outside of north america download or run the game. And based upon their server location the website lucky wheels were considered gambling and against the LAW in most US states.

I have no problem with private servers. I am pretty sure that this one is related to the original PKO, At least it got its mailing list. The account I got the invite on was only used on PKO.

I been using both TOP and PKO since shortly after they came out,

They were involved in multiple lawsuits, cabal is quite prominent case, but, if you simply looked over the source code you will see to come revelation that they've always been reusing some other game. So regardless if they were sued for the TOP's case or not, the whole point being here is that, this game has been always stolen and if you want to raise concerns about legality, you cannot anyways, it's already forfeited.

Also wouldn't make sense, TOP2 made nearly 1.2 mill in a month averagely, IGG long had evolved and went with in-house and mobile development, the RPGs were just left there until they weren't generating cash. Sadly, even in the last days, it was still generating so huge amount of money.

Well yes, on the gambling part, but it's not illegal because they were gambling as by product, they purchased points and retained points, they just receive free runs on the gambling pages.

Bottom line here is that, the whole fiasco with this game is pretty in it's void area, if we are to discuss and complain about legality and right/wrong morals, you'll have to start with discussing if the water in cup is half full or half empty. Those kind of arguments belong to courtroom, I am moving quickly to see things become fully legal and doing that by developing entirely new code base.

A new code base is the best way to go. There are too many issues in the current one. Its good to have someone that is playing the game to work on it, IGG and Moliyo had no idea what was going on. And messed up the balance of the game with the OP gems and adding levels without adjusting skills, new content that you couldn't play .

If you add the jackpots that you had to mall for like TOP did just don't host the servers in Nevada. :) They picked the one state that it was illegal to even gamble for items of perceived value without getting the gambling commissions ok and the odds approved. and most people thought they were getting something.

PKO hosted offshore could do what ever they wanted.

TOP 2 was making big bucks, but the market was dieing out. They weren't getting new players and it was hard to get the big mallers to spend $20,000+ month for ever. Remember kylin mall armor came out and the initial auction if a remember right the set would have costed 100K. There financial trends over their last few years of TOP showed it was on a downward spiral. Malling is fine and good way for someone running a game to make money, but when it became necessity to mall at a high level to compete it meant the end of the game.

My son was 9 when we started playing and he is college now. We have had many discussions about gaming over the years and used the way a game should as run, what the changes they made meant, and how a game can get out of balance. TOP & PKO were and stall used as our bad examples. We could go on forever about what they did wrong, but that is a different conversation that doesn't need to be done in a forum

No, it was 51,000 points. a 2,500$ valuation.

wasn't the initial auction where they bid on it piece by piece more? They had a few week long auction. Then three months later they released it for the lower price, pissing of the 4 "lucky" winners of the auction

either way it was way more than willing to spend.

Keep prices reasonable and go for volume,
