Seems like a nice idea and lots of people have tried doing it before. The biggest fork in their paths, though, was the fact that you can't Edit threads unless your account's old enough and you have a sufficient number of posts.

Regardless, sorting it out would help a ton, and I noticed a couple of items such as Monster Drops (Equips), i.e. Raptor Gloves, Raptor Boots, Thundorian Staff, etc, whose price is very very relaive, based on the stats and/or sockets they've got in, so either removing those or noting the average stats they should have for your listed price should be done.

Lastly, adding a "Tag" to Rings with its level and primary stat, i.e. Eye of Lightning (Lv50 Agi ring) for easier orientation would probably be in order as well.

Honestly, I've thought of making some sort of app to do this for you. You could average the sale prices for all the items and update the average. This could also include tags for search, and all the other necessary fields you'd like. The problem, however, is that we don't have access to the data. If you look at stall listed prices, those aren't actually confirmed sales and people overprice items when they AFK. Lots of valuable items are traded player to player. People also give each other items, and it would be hard to get a per item price in a multi item trade. What Zonticore did is probably the best we've got right now, apart from making the database searchable and tagged.

They're the only Gems which give raw stats. Something that's pretty darn strong for certain classes in the game, so them being utterly expensive is fine.

You can imagine some sort of statistical test to say that if the new list price is outside of 5% average price (for example) then don't consider it for pricing. Or, you could have some other test depending on the sample size and such. Coding something like this would be straightforward but the problem is the price acquisition! If you made a bot that would venture around argent, icicle, and shaitan and clicked on every stall and from the stalls acquired prices, you get get the prices. But this would require some image recognition or something like that to click on the stall names...
A project to consider over the summer, not in the lead up for finals!
