I used to play some MMORPG games, until I find ToP. Almost 10 years later, I downloaded Pirate King and talking with some people in the game , I started remember my first experience with ToP. Here is how started:
Back in the day, my english was very bad (more than now, because still is), but I got the luck of having played other MMORPG's before so kinda I thought that was the same principles. After one the first missions in my early levels, the naive CR055 got to a Blacksmith and then I saw a lot of weapons. He thought to himself "I need money ASAP to buy this beautiful sword".
In lvl 2 or 3 the naive CR055 noticed that he was not earning enough money doing Story Quest, so, I looked what I had in my inventory to sell and get money. This is where things starting get terrible.
I saw a lot of monster-drops-loot and then I saw this golden cube in my inventory. I knew that I had this since the beggining of the game. I move the mouse in it and I read: "item sell value: 5". Then I thought of myself "Its worth nothing to sell, so its probably worth nothing in my inventory and also ocupy 01 slot of my inventory that I could fill with some valuable item". Without thinking twice, I sold it to the blacksmith and went away to the adventures.
Sudently, the game starts to becames hard. Hard to fight with monsters even below my level, but also hard to make money and leveling up. I was spending a lot of time just looting to sell and get money to buy the weapons and the clotches and it wasnt enough. The items were expensive a lot to me.
One day, probably in my 30lvl, a guy ask me "why are u with this 20lvl clotching?". I answer: "because I dont have enough money to buy the itens of my lvl". The guy then told me "just click on the guiding chest that they will give you the equipment dude". Me: "what the fuck is the guiding chest?". He: "the golden cube that u got in the beggining of the game".

Fuck, I sweated cold. I said: "I sold it". He: "WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHATTTTTTTT WHYYYYYYYYY? WTFFFFFFFFF DUDEEEEE. WORTHY NOOOOOTHINGGG". I reply "FUCKING 5 GOLD". This moment I realized that I just sold the guiding chest.

This moment I realized that I probably made the NOBBIEST thing in the entire game.
And since the beggining of the game till my voy +-80lvl I bought every weapon, clotches with my money. I dont know how much time I had spend looting monsters 15lvls below me just to have money buy a item 10lvl below my current lvl.
And I'll end here because its already embarassing enough.
I'm currently lvl 36 explorer but I'm correcting my mistakes. I FUCKING HAVE THE GUIDING CHEST in my inventory bitches! And if you see CR055 outhere, have some empathy for his story, say that u just read his story of suffering and redemption and help him lvl up.
