Lost account

Hi

I used to play back in 2016 and I'm having trouble logging into one of my accounts now.
When I try and associate the account with this current one I get the message

"This account is already associated with another member. This association can only be changed from within that account."

When I try to login in game it says the password is incorrect. I have access to the email the account is registered to, is there anything I can do to retrieve the account?

Means that We already have a Player record with that Facebook/Google account.
Please, try login with that particular Facebook/Google account you are trying to associate to another account.

I have old purchase receipts sent to the email account I believe is associated with the account in question, but when I log in using the email it logs on to a different account so I'm just a bit confused.

Will my characters still be around anyway? I haven't played since 2016, and the game seems to be very different since then. If not then this problem isn't really relevant anymore.
