I wanted to know how to calculate how much def a char needs to be able to withstand attacks from mobs.
Like a treant has 246 min attack DMG https://devxf2.piratekings.online/forum/database/monster/treant.107/
How much def does a char needs to tank it and how do I calculate that? And PR?

The def needed depends on your PR and level difference.

I think the damage reduction formula works something along the lines of PR reducing the damage by a %, probably equal to the amount of PR and then by a flat amount equal to 1.5*def or 2*def - I've seen different sources state different numbers and never got around to testing them myself.

Max Att* (1- PR % ) - Defense= Final damage
in this case
246*(1- your PR%) - your defense = how many damage treant hit you
if you have 18PR and 201 defense the trent will hit you
246* （1-18%）-201=0.72 damage
and also the level difference if your are lower 9 lv than treant(39) ,is not damage reduce so hit you hard.
but if are high 9 lv (57) you get max damage reduce .
if you are crus need to look at you dodge too.
