Similar to the refining gem discussion I think that the drop rate should be increased for stones like Hervo Bloodstone Guise Veilstone Oceanic Gutstone ect. ect.

I understand we are trying to make it a challenge to get the 75 gears, but you already have to gather a lot of items to create them with a low possibility of good stats. Having a ridiculously low drop rate of 0.02% is just downright insane. Even rare equipment drops have a 3% and take hours for one to drop.

I was in Naval Base for about 5 or 6 hours on a hi-amp during 2x drop and didn't get a single stone. that is just ridiculous.

My suggestion is to increase the drop rate to 2-3% on land mobs and 4-5% on sea mobs, since they are more tedious to kill. similar to other equipment drops. once you get the stone you do have to gather 3 other items usually 10-30 ea. of those low drop rate items.

Make it obtainable without being so frustrating. this game is grindy enough, we could use a little ease off on the 50 hours for a chance at a item that might not be worth anything.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Maybe a small increase, but 100-200 times higher drop rate? I reckon that's a tad bit too much.

I didn't base my suggestion on its current drop rate. I based it on the effort to to benefit ratio. A regular equipment will drop very rarely at 2-3%. I also factor in the effort needed for all of the other rare drops to be able to redeem one piece.

Even at 3% drop rate you would have to invest about 5-6 hours farming for 1 item and worse for sea items.(factoring in the stone and other required items)

I think this is a reasonable amount of time for a chance at a good item. We all know you would have to do this at least 20-30 times to get a halfway decent one.

Alternative suggestions are welcome too. This just seems more reasonable than 1 in 5000 chance.

I think something that makes this equipment worth it and potentially the best in the game is the fact that you can't really farm it. Its supply is very very low, as is the chance for it to actually roll the right stat - with the right amount.

Combined together, It's equipment you can't "grind" out and, in my honest opinion, it should remain that way. The drop rate does suck big time and investing time in it definitely doesn't help anyone's cause, that much I agree with. Though to be fair, all mobs which drop these stones have a great use - from abba mobs which give a ton of exp to naval/skeletar mobs which drop abba passes/tickets and hp pots. So saying you wasted X hours on those mobs farming those stones isn't exactly true. You do get a bunch of other very useful stuff, with an ever so slight chance to drop a stone.

Lastly, I would like to touch on those percentages you've mentioned. 2-3% is a crap ton, especially from an "infinite" source (unlike bosses, bd mobs, etc - where such high rates for rare items are justified). To put it into perspective, there was one other server before this one where all these stones had their drop rate increases 10 times (so 0.10% in abba, 0.20% from naval/skeletar mobs). They were so easy to drop, it wasn't even funny. In that one, the stones weren't used for equipment, rather to complete the celtic maze requirement quest (Aurora/Dark area). Farming that set of stones (8 pieces) took a few hours at most, taking into account the fact that 2 of those stones were exclusive to sea, which took the most time. If 0.20% changed the supply so drastically, what would 2-3% do?

As for alternative suggestions though, I once talked with someone who gave an interesting suggestion of making a "stone pack" (arbitrary number of these stones, either random or fixed ones) exchangeable for reputation. I'd rather explore on such a method than just buffing the percentages up.

@Leba

I like your take on it. Yea i do know that the 2-3% was going to get some backlash, however I think it was justified.

Although if instead of increasing the drop rate add it as exchangeable for reputation. I think that would be a viable solution. I like it.

As @Leba said just before i think the drop rates shold stay the same as it is one reason why those items are so valuable.
