Because of the motivation: the glory, rewards, etc.
The reception for this "game-mode" on diablo at the beggining was much like this post: everyone saying "it's a waste of time" "this is an mmorpg, wont work" "why would I do anything if its gonna get erased anyways" "all the grind for nothing"...
There is a SIMPLER(doesn't automatically mean its better) alternative for the whole determining who is the best pirate, ranking based on honor points(sounds like it would provide an insane popularity for bar/ca/guildwar pvp).
This is partly where I got the idea from.
In diablo 3 you have the option to make a seasonal character every season that starts off with nothing. Competing for the glory of being in the top of leaderboards and sweet sweet cosmetic items.

I mentioned in the post that this will only be during the deathmatch where crusaders will only fight other crusaders and other classes will only fight players within their own class.
So there wont be any issues of class Pros and Cons during the deathmatch since they'll only fight others that...
To give people choice.
If they want to compete in seasonal then that's ok.
If they want to continue playing on the normal server then that's ok.
If they gave the seasonal server a try and didn't like it and want to go back to the normal server that's ok.
I they want to play BOTH seasonal and...
The main idea is to give everyone an equal chance(every 3 months) of competing in a race/battle for the ultimate glory of become the top pirate.
If you put it bluntly what you are doing right now is just endlessly grinding mobs over and over till the next upgrade just to repeat the process...
Here's the gist of it:
A seasoned server isle(SEPARATE SERVER ISLE FROM MAIN SERVER & WITH NO INFLUENCE FROM/TO IT)[If you are already skeptic please read the first few lines under "CONS." down below).
Each season lasting around 3 months each and having a cooldown of 2 weeks before the next...
I get about 0.07% exp from ea mob here. Would have to kill ~1400 treants to lv up. If it takes me about 5 to find treants and kill them I would take ~3hrs for 1 lv. I think you should update the lvling part.
