It's rarely mallers vs nonmallers... They are all usualy mixed together. And that's so much of a bullshit. PK servers can do well without mallers. These kind of servers where catching up later on will become impossible fails if theres no possibility to catch up by malling. Also, the gems are limited to 3, dont forget that. So even if you malled 5k, you would not need that many UG gems and that actualy gives chance to non-mallers to get the UGs from mallers. And that stimulates the economy.
Im no expert in game design but i follow it enuf to understand why no popular game in 2016 allows pay to win. It is a proven thing that every game thrives on the health of its non-maller populous.
Q: Why do games survive based on non mallers and not mallers?
A: Simple - People play MMO games because they are Massively Multiplayer and non mallers make up the overwhelming majority of that. If you didn't notice when the population of a server falls the server dies because most of the non mallers quit.
Q: So why does the server die because of non-mallers and not mallers
A:Because non-mallers provide essential services to mallers:
1) Competition - Non Mallers (and one time spenders) make up a significant part of the competition you see in most PvP areas.
2)Farming - non mallers farm WAY MORE than mallers and provide mallers with ease of access to gear/items they otherwise would never get access to because they probably dont have the time or will power to farm 4+ hours
3)Companionship - Alot of players join the game to meet new people or have fun with friends. These friends may not have the ability to mall for various reasons and having a game that HEAVILY favours spending money to win will only push those non malling friends to quit when they dont have the ability to spend money to enjoy the game
Q: OK so how wouldn't player be able to catch up ?? Maller's will be selling items they can buy from mallers!!!!
A: Yes and No. Mallers who already have most of the things they need will NOT mall anymore since thats just a waste of money. I mean hey if i was teh strongest in the server i wouldn't mall i would just go get it myself. If i'm a maller trying to catch up then hey i'm selling my mall points to the highest bidder only. So that leaves players that don't have a lot of cash to spend with only one option - FARMING.
But wait how is that bad? Well since your not a maller and you dont have money to buy gems to get strong then you simply cannot go to a maze. This means you cannot get access to majority of the best farming spots (DS,DW,FC etc.) so you will have to go farm normal mobs for low amounts of cash. Ok so ill go farm smugglers (as an example) but wait so much other people are farming smugglers UGH!!! plus farming smugglers to buy a single gem of rage even if no one else is there TAKES HOURS, and i need way more than one rage + ref just to catch up. So after finding out how lame and unrewarding this game is i quit. Then my maller friend who only plays this game to play with me also quits and then you see the pattern (tired of typing lol).
To add to the survivability of the game or at least this game is simple - FIX IT!
The game not only lacks content, its unbalanced, it always ends in soloing and greed.
