Disconnecting rum buyer

A player by the name of "Scan" is going around buying rums from people only to disconnect when the trade is supposed to happen.

I know rums are primarily used for personal consumption but I think since these incidents are intentional, something should be done about this person as the number of victims could be raised in the future.

Needless to say, this is really bad for people who purchase rums to hasten their game progress.

Technically, selling Rum is against the rules, although many people do it. Them getting screwed over is not only their fault because they trusted a shady buyer, but for not having read rules as well.

Then there's really no seller protection then.

I could rephrase that by saying i could propose to buy rums from people and then proceed to not purchase the items i asked for which pretty much is in the category of fraud.

I'm not asking for reimbursement, just punishment for the person who some say have scammed other beside me.

I mean, some guy got banned here for saying "kill him" on a forum thread and that was not even a real threat.

What happened here is real, and it involved real money which I worked hard for.


Just really hoping for consideration on the matter.

Airellez, i got your point. There are some people that has nothing to do, and they keep asking for appareals and other stuff that are hard to sell by the same price you would sell your rums. To prevent this kind of situation, i advice you to only sell consumable items, like:
Nana, CB, Hi-Amps, Pet Fruits, Rations, Pet skills, Demonic Fruits, few tickets (summer, spring, thundoria harbor, mine 3...), Candy and so on... You can feel free to do what you want, but sadly we cannot trust in everyone. Another tip is: go to the buyer before getting the items. The name/lvl/appearence may define if it's someone trying to scam or not.

If you also decide to complain to police about how your regular drug buyer decided to not purchase your weed anymore, that's the day when we will start banning those people who doesn't buy your rum as agreed.

While i admit that it's my fault, the general idea I'm getting here from various posts (especially that of Zankza) is that it's okay for me to do the same.

It's as okay as it is to scam or waste people's resources in other ways. Granted the difference with Rums is that people paid $ to obtain them. However, the principle of "it's your own fault" is the same. Especially since everyone who's registered has accepted the Terms and Rules, not having read that Rums are prohibited to sell is their own fault.
Moreso, it too is their own fault that they chose to make risky deals, like MZarur said, it's best to sell Items which could be sold afterwards without much loss.
