We are losing players everyday, in the last days I've participated in 5 drop or hide and sick events of players who quit the game. And another 2 friends of mine are threatening to quit as well.

Some things that have been said before, but let's at it again:

1) I think we need to have some sort of reward for mentors to level disciples, because those first levels 20-40 are actually the hardest ones to level (unless you are a spr explorer) - notice that I said the hardest, not the ones that take the longest. If more people helped newbies through these levels, maybe more people would stay in game.

2) We need a way for people to get rats and regular pet fruits that don't depend on mall. I don't say that for myself, I'm high level, I can farm money to buy pet fruits or ratz. But when you are low level, even 50k is hard money to get. I believe that new players who see how much they'll have to spend every two days to support their pets might think that the game is not for them. I know it hurts mall. But better to hurt mall a bit and keep the game alive then ending the game because of lack of players. Plus rum price has grown 10k in two weeks.

3) Top guilds, you are keeping the equips for yourselves. That's great for you, of course you should fully equip your own guild before providing items for the whole server and (consequentially) your enemies, but that behavior is kind of killing the server. You guys have CA equips, some have boss frame, you even do BD. That's great, but the rest of the entire server is still wearing chest equips. And they are quitting. You'll soon be very rich, very OP in a very empty server.

4) We need more advertisement to bring new players. But we have to be able to keep them afterwards.

5) I think you need another kind of punishment to replace the ban, Zankza. I know most of the ban have been legit, but we kind of just lost a whole guild of players because of that. I don't have any suggestion to replace this punishment. But as the game is now, I don't think it will survive until Christmas.
 
1) Yes, but problem is, that it will be overexploited by people who will plvl their own chars.

3) Hopeless speaking: We are 7 in guild. Well, actually 5 only, 2 are alts. We shouldn't be considered "top guild". Last CA paw we got was given to a guild member, we don't keep them if we don't need them.

4) I see newbies daily, but they don't stay. That's true. Perhaps point 1 and 2 will resolve that problem.

5) I think that wisest way to deal with that would be to give 1st a 7 days bann, and 2nd time permanent ban for ofences like botting. For RWT & Bug Exploiting the 1st ban should already be permanent ban.

Another thing.

6) We need to make people come to forum. People ask a lot of questions in-game and some are hard to explain without pictures, maps, etc. I think an in-game link to the "Questions and Support" thread or to a new "Guides" thread would be very useful. And let's create guides. DW guide with maps and chests and drops. DS and FC, how to get there, people don't know where portals are. NSS what the hell is a NSS, how do I get to the isle to open it, etc. I know we already have some guides, but most players don't come to forum, make a NPC that really calls the attention of newbies and direct them here.
 
+7 days ban - first offense - is a great idea

The problem is that if I'm really in the mood to play and I've been banned for 7 days, I'll probably join another server to distract me while banned, that means I'll probably stay in that new server after investing a week in them.

So banning people for 7 days might not really change much. I think a 3-day ban might be better for a first offender. It's enough for them to crave the game but not enough to get too involved in another server.
 
Plus Get an active moderator in- game like a sub- gm. keep the chat alive , assists with players concerns and questions , etc etc :)

P.S. i can apply for it. ill hold mini-events too with very minor rewards xDD
 
I came here just to say that I so very agree with the OP. I'm a new player and if it weren't for chatting with my old friends in top I would have quit long ago cause of lack of rewards for mentors and for the fact the pet system is mall exclusive. Every time i look for fruit to lvl my pet i feel like quitting... nobody sells then and IF by very low chance you find one, it's always overpriced
 
Rations and pets fruits is almost imposible to get for thoses players who cant spend $$ to buy rums... I currently stoped to growth my fairy cause of that.. all the money that I get ( with hard work) goes to feed the freaking pet and for fruits to level it, and i cant buy others necesary things to keep playing. like nanas or amp for leveling, manu stuffs for pk and stuff like that... this situation is something that @Zankza should consider, Its no just me... if is hard for me that I am lv55, imagine how hard it is for a Lower lv player.. Its my very own opinion.

And about the wave of banned people that I've seem last 2 weeks is another thing that should be considered as well. Today 2 of my friend got banned, I asked them the reason and they said they didnt anything Ilegal, could be a lie of course but idk, in my opinion runing like this wont take so long till this server die. which make me sad because I like the old style that this server have.

LOL, I was talking about rations from rep-cred ex-changer only yesterday and some people jumped on me and started talking about how I am crying when I was just stating facts. Take it in mind i have 1st and 2nd gen pets above lvl30 that only die if i forget to feed them before i leave home. Also said it wasn't for me that i was speaking from a general point of view considering how many people had left already, but no that didn't matter to them. They need to keep selling their overpriced items and kill server more. If people can't manage to sustain a pet which plays an important role in this game they won't bother to stay.
 
When you have been expending to much Rum justs ave your pet and you suddenly noticed that the total expense you incurred in a monthly basis can already buy you a 1 month supply of food in reality.
 
not ban..better.. Prison for 7 days. 2nd offence is 2 weeks of prison. 3rd is ban.
 
This is the best anime mmorpg available but it seems the hype and the search for it is too low. Thats the problem.

I dont know but i guess tales, pko time is done. I dont say its dead but the only times that servers are crowded is when its new. People like to rebuild over and over. Maybe a new server would fit and bring more ppl too
 
no i hate to hear that this is my favorite game dont shut it down even if not alot of people play. you need to advertise it more and maybe do events or make the game more fun and not dull.

hey there, I love this game too. but admit it, this game is outdated. that's a fact. Im sure what's bringing you all back are those lingering affections from past days.

I see this server tries to accommodate two totally different groups (hardcores and newbies) at the same time, which is impossible in my opinion. forget about the newbies shall we? newbies will judge this game based on mmorpg today.. so don't put too much focus on them. It's rare for them to like this old game, anyway. forget them (though I think Sotto's idea to make guide link in interface is brilliant, make it slightly more newbie-friendly)

Now. to keep veterans in game, I think hexa is very important to be weekly event. Zankza, if you were a player, you should've realized from the start that this is the most loved event for all people! lower the exp gain or randomise it within a set of numbers is fine. I think simple twist like making more alternative routes is the best and make it creatively!,
e.g.
instead of sending letter to that shai npc, system randomise who to send to, say to babul haven, or to solace haven, make people walk around the 3 maps, ha!
For sashimi, ore, and wood. keep it as is, but change the receiver! say, deliver this to random npc and report after delivery to that physician at argent.
instead of boring and dull party of lv31 and lv21 players, change it to plvl player lv21-39 you can find for 1 lvl! for higher rewards you need more contribution to lower levels! yes!!
and so on.

I think we can be so creative with what is inside the hexa itself, without changing the nostalgic feel and excitement to wait for hexa each weekends :P

I don't think that would go out well. People leave everything ready to do as many hexas as possible, if you make things random people will get kinda bitchy that their possible four hexas became 1 or 2 because they didn't know by heart where they had to go.

I'm not a fan of having hexas every week, but I think Zankza has to start taking chances if he wants the game to survive.

No, no, no, god no. Nobody does hexa for fun (maybe you :p), ppl do hexa for lvs, low investiment and big payoff, mass riots would occur if ppl took the whole week preparing for it and on the event day they are sent to the other side of the world and instead of doing 4-5 hexas they barely do 1. And forget about the newbies? Are you serious? Do you realize newbies are the ones who buy stuff in stalls most of the times? Without newbies amps of strive\luck wouldnt be sold, mini amps, low lv rings, low tier gems, most apparels, low lv pets, outdated equipment, skeletar-inca-evanescence chests, basically most of what is sold. And we would have no new players, and I can assure you playing with the very same people gets boring REALLY quick.

I think he meant newbies as in "people who never played top before" instead of "new pko players".
But I agree with you.
