I've been looking for a guide to help me level up my SM, but the ones I found had weird choices for mobs to kill (too high level, which lowers our bolt considerably, or too much hp, which makes leveling up take much longer than it should), so here is the list of mobs I've killed to level up my SM.
So, us, SMs, can't level on mobs that have too much level difference on us, so I've been leveling on mobs until I'm 5 levels above them. If you've decided for a Pure Con SM, you'll have trouble leveling anyway, I wouldn't advise this build if it's your first char in the game and you have no money or friends to level you up. So, if you're trying to level on your own, I'd advise you to spend a good amount of points in spirit. Invest in SPR pets, rings and caps too whenever possible, you can switch your build to CON acessories after you've reached lv 60+
From level 1 to 10
There are many choices here, it's up to preference. Some people do the Newbie Quest until level 9 and then do the Herbalist Quest, which leaves them at level 10.
I don't really like questing, so I just go outside Argent and kill:
Forest Spirits (lv 3) until I'm level 3 or 4 and then
Mini Bees (lv 5)
or Greedy Shrooms (lv 6).
You can kill Shrooms until you're level 9 or move to Cuddly Lambs (lv 8), close to Silver Mine.
Another option is to buy Lucky Packets, with 1k-2k gold you can buy enough to get to level 10.
From level 10 to 17
Kill Bear Cubs (lv 12) at Silver Mine.
Make sure to use your one point of skill at lv 10 to get Spiritual Bolt. You can add Heal lv 1 after being able to bolt your bears to death.
From level 17 to 25
You can kill Angelic Pandas (lv 17) going Northwest of Silver Mine until you're lv 20 or you can go straight to Smugglers (lv 20), across the bridge of Rockery Haven. I prefer Smugglers for the drops, but the constant bots at Rockery Haven can make it hard for you to get a good amount of kills.
From level 25 to 43
Kill Mad Boars (lv 30) at Andes Haven until you can't stand looking at them anymore. They have low hp, which ensures you're 1 bolt kill and give decent amount of exp.
You're only going to move from boars when you're able to kill Ninja Moles (lv 38, at Abandon Mine) in one bolt (which should happen around lv 35 or less if you're adding points in spr and if you spend a little to buy Unseal equips lv 35). You can kill ninjas untill you're level 43 (you can also exchange ninjas for Ferocious Scorpions, since they're level 38 too, though they have a little bit more hp. Scorpions stay East of Skeleton Haven, in Deep Blue).
From level 43 to 45
Your one-bolt wonder time is over (unless you can afford a decent pet and decent equips). For these two levels you can kill Rock Golems (lv 40) at West of Valhalla Haven. Two bolts should be enough at this point to kill them.
From level 45 to 47
Now shit hit the fan if you can't afford a good level pet and spr rings. You'll need to use 3 bolts to kill Werewolf Warriors behind Icespire haven. If you prefer, you can remain at stone golems for these levels. The exp is lower, but one less bolt makes a difference, and you shouldn't feel the difference too much if you use hbs. I leveled almost 50% at the golems, after reaching lv45, while leveling an alt. So it's possible.
From level 47-50
Go back to Icespire and head North. You'll find level 45 Undead Archers there. At this point you'll use 2-3 bolts to kill them depending on your equips. Whatever money you've managed to save up until now, use it on those spr rings. Your defence is low so far, but, unless you're planing on going DS, you won't need it. That one point in Heal should be keeping you alive just fine.
I haven't reached past this point yet, but as soon as I do, I'll update this guide. One of the obvious choices will be Treants (lv 48) until you're 53 (I estimate 3 bolts), Werewolf Archer (lv 50) (3 bolts too, though they have less hp than treants) until you're 55 or Undead Warriors (lv 52) (2k hp, they're our favorite
) until you're 57. Undead Warriors are probably the best choice, since they have the lowest hp, but I still have to check how much lower they make our bolt and how easy (or not) they are to survive.
