How defense bonus on equips works?

So I have lvl45 unseal SM armor and it says it gives me +12% defense bonus.
Without having armor I have 145 defense.
With armor on, I have 208 defense. And the armor gives 50 defense.
So, 208 - 145 - 50 = 13 defense bonus.
12% of 208 should be 25 extra defense bonus.
12% of 145 (defense without armor) is 17 extra defense bonus.
13 defense bonus doesnt match with any of these numbers.

So, how does it works?

I think i have the same question for %HP bonus.

For answer your question i need know all your equip, and base stats. Items change your stats not one by one, but all at once. It wrong way trying extract middle values while something else equipped.

If you want check is right def counts do next: unequip all, record def stat, record sum of defence bonus from all items, record sum of defence bonus in % from all items, equip all, record def stat.
As i know - final def stat is base def stat * (1 + def bonus in %) + def bonus

Take screenshot of your character stats, both, with and without equipment.
